Sisterhood
Open Meetings | Gift Shop | Morning Book Group | Mah Jongg
Founded in 1906 as the Ladies Auxiliary, Rodfei Zedek Sisterhood continues our tradition of enhancing congregational life through programing and fund-raising activities. Our Monday afternoon meetings provide educational and entertaining programs, open to women and men of the Congregation and their friends as well as the greater Hyde Park community.
See our 5783 programs, which begin in November. Please note Sisterhood's Gift to HIAS in Support for Citizens of Ukraine in lieu of our annual Dawn Rubin Torah Study Institute in spring 2022.
Our book group, which meets monthly on Monday mornings, welcomes new readers and visitors. Some of us play mah jongg on Tuesday afternoons year-round.
If you would like to become a Sisterhood member, you can join at any of our open meetings, or email us at Sisterhood@rodfei.org, or contact the synagogue office.
Sisterhood also raises funds to subsidize congregational programs. You can help…
- by doing your gift and holiday shopping at the Nelson Judaica and Gift Shop, where profits support Sisterhood contributions to the Congregation. The Gift Shop provides items both basic and amusing. Use our catalogs to find your perfect purchase.
- by participating in our High Holiday Greetings program. Thanks to all of you who added your names to the New Year's Greetings listed in the fall Rodfei Zedek Welcome Book.
- by making honor contributions throughout the year. Our Social Secretary sends personalized messages to your family and friends when you make a contribution to Sisterhood in their honor.
