B'nai Mitzvah

Congregation Rodfei Zedek is committed to supporting and celebrating our students and their families upon reaching this joyous milestone.

Celebrate A Joyous Milestone

We find both historic and modern meaning in studying the Torah portion, and seek to heighten awareness of what it means to take our place as full members of the Jewish Community in Hyde Park and in the world at large. We collaborate with our families to craft a meaningful experience, including planning for a service where the B-Mitzvah celebrant is called for an aliyah to the Torah for the first time.

As we value the  diversity of our community including our younger members, we know that “one size does not fit all” when it comes to becoming a B-Mitzvah – a gender-neutral term we have chosen to refer to this important milestone. For more information and to begin the process, including selecting a date, please refer to our B-Mitzvah Guide. Please feel welcome to contact Rabbi Minkus or Cantor Rosenberg as well.
