Shabbat Morning Services

No matter which service(s) you attend, join the entire community for kiddush lunch, often followed by zemirot/community singing.

Masorti Minyan. Meets every Shabbat morning. Traditional egalitarian service with a full, member-led Torah reading.  Services and text study are led by clergy and congregants. Please sign up to read Torah or haftarah. If you’d like to learn to chant Torah/haftarah or to lead parts of the service, contact Cantor Rosenberg.

First Shabbat! On the first Shabbat of each month, our whole community comes together with something for everyone: Masorti Minyan, Na'aseh V'Nishma, Minyan Katan, open gym, and storytelling.

Na'aseh V'Nishma Minyan. Once a month, join us for a service in the spirit of the words above the Ark in the Simon Sanctuary, "We do, we learn." This service explores ways to celebrate Shabbat together, including an extended Torah study facilitated by members of the community. Parts of the service include instrumental accompaniment. Torah readings of varying lengths offer opportunities for participation at all levels.

Minyan Katan. Once a month during the school year, we join together for joyful services geared toward children ages 0‑5 and their families (including grandparents). We experience Shabbat through prayer, song, and dance, often with a guitar. We share challah and grape juice while we schmooze and play.

Minyan Gadol. Children ages six and up are invited to a service where they can pray, sing, and learn with their families in celebration of Shabbat. Torah reading opportunities for all ages. Meets several times a season. Dates listed on calendar, or contact the office for the next date.

Friday Evening Services

Shabbat B'Yachad. Join us once a month for this joyful Friday evening service to welcome Shabbat. With instruments and lots of singing. A community potluck dinner immediately follows in the Atrium.

The KabShab Project. On two Friday nights during the year, join us for a participatory, ruach-filled musical experience for all ages. Enjoy the rhythms created by our expanding, eclectic band of musicians as we join in joyful song to welcome and celebrate Shabbat! Followed by community potluck dinner in the Atrium.

Kol Shabbat. Kabbalat Shabbat and maariv service. Often led by members of the community, no musical instruments. New leaders and melodies welcome. Check the calendar or call the office for the next date.
