Chesed Initiative

The members of CRZ are people who care about each other, and who share in both the joy and the responsibility of being part of this very special community. We love coming together in times of joy and are currently organizing the CRZ Chesed Initiative to ensure that when a CRZ member is in need, the community is there to help.

Whether it’s a lifecycle celebration, an illness, or other challenging time, the CRZ Chesed Initiative will help and support members of our community. We can coordinate the providing of meals, offer help with errands, or provide transportation to medical appointments, always observing strict confidentiality for everyone involved.

The CRZ Chesed Initiative also believes that it is very important to reach out to our members who may be homebound or lonely, to help ensure that we forge and maintain connections with them. This may entail a friendly visit, a phone call or even just sending an email or card. It’s critical that no one feel forgotten during a difficult time in their lives.

It is a guiding principle of a community such as ours to be available to help each other as needs arise. Toward that end, the Chesed Initiative will offer four distinct ways to support different segments of our community:

1. Help, such as meals, for families with newborns
2. Shiva coordination and support
3. Care visits
4. General support

We would love to have, and need your involvement in one or more of the above areas, and will provide training opportunities for the mitzvah of reaching out to and supporting our community members in need.

Please help us continue Rodfei Zedek’s tradition of being a connected and caring community!

If you are in need of assistance, please email us at chesed@rodfei.org and a member of our CRZ Chesed Initiative will be in touch with you to coordinate your support.
