Join the annual All-Community Parade! If you enjoy decorated floats, horses, marching bands, fire trucks, and just plain family fun, the 4th on 53rd has been the place to be since 1992. Step off with elected officials in patriotic costumes and your neighbors!
Parade route and staging:
- 9:00 - Bike decorating. Everyone is welcome to join in, including bicyclists and tricyclists.
- 10:00 - Assembly. Parade staging at 54th Street & Old Lake Park (Hyde Park Bank parking lot). All participants must find the registration table and check-in with coordinators. Participants will march in a pre-determined order.
- 11:00 - Parade starts
- Route: East on 54th Street, south on Lake Park, east on 55th Street, north on Hyde Park Boulevard, west on 53rd Street to Nichols Park.
- Remember: The parade route will be closed to traffic during the parade.
The parade turns into a picnic and festival where attendees will be entertained by an afternoon of family fun at Nichols Park until 4:00 p.m.
Presented by the Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce, the Nichols Park Advisory Council, and the Chicago Park District with the support of many local sponsors.
