Deanna Neil is a Rabbinical Student at HUC-JIR’s new Virtual Pathway  program and a Chicago native. She founded Deanna’s Pop-Up Shul in Los Angeles, where she brought hundreds together for creative High Holiday and Shabbat celebrations, and most recently served as Director of Lifelong Learning at KAM Isaiah Israel. An award-winning writer of young adult fiction, as well as a musician, facilitator, and ritual leader, Deanna loves weaving music, storytelling, and joy into Jewish life. She plays the ukulele, studied opera in Italy, and has performed her own cabaret shows in London and New York.
